Plant-Based Cooking Workshops – Hall of Fame

Updated December 2019: Our plant-based cooking workshops are a fun way of learning how to eat more plants in a healthy & delicious way!

Plant-based cooking workshop – Twin Lakes, Glenbervie

LOVED the workshop and had lots of fun. The food was yummy, the people lovely and the environment a delight. HM

Highlights: Hard to decide between the Sunfed Roast & Oyster Mushroom Ceviche! It was garden to plate in the abundant surrounds of Twin Lakes Retreat. What a stunning location to cook, eat and sink into the special vibe there. Christmas kicked off with a plant-rich bang!

Plant-based cooking workshop – Wellington series

Honestly it was an absolute delight to meet and to cook (and then consume) some of the most delicious fare ever, with Kate and Aaron. – LM

Highlights: The weather! Go Wellington you so turned it on. We ate outside, cooked outside and thoroughly enjoyed our seaside venues. Big thanks to our lovely hosts Kirsty & Andy, Pippa & Tim, and wonderful participants!

Plant-based cooking workshop – Bay of Islands

Wonderful, wonderful foodie weekend learning about so much deliciousness in making plant-based whole food. I also loved how Kate and Aaron embraced our Gawler healing diet and adapted recipes to work for me. – ELW

August 2019: This was our first 2-day cooking workshop. What a joy having more time to showcase plant-based food & get to know each other!

Highlights: the oil-free lentil soup with orange, kaffir lime cream, fresh raw starters, healthy weight loss meals, and decadent desserts with low fat options. Everyday dishes intermingled with fancy dishes. In between we soaked beans, dehydrated flaxseed & sunflower crackers, had a garden visit and got slow & mindful with our food.

The full stop: a cacao ceremony that ushered us back into our lives full of connection & energy. So much gratitude for this experience.

Plant-based cooking workshop – Tairua

Who said vegan food was boring. It was truly flavoursome, easy and totally taste bud stimulation! – SD

July 2019: Hosted by the beautiful Sunlover Retreat – what a treat!

Highlights:the views! What a stunner of a location. Matched only by the warm welcome from participants and spectacular food. Kimchi pancakes stole the show along with mango salsa Thai lettuce cups and cherry chocolate dessert! We’ll be back for sure!

Plant-based cooking workshop – Matapouri

It was out of this world! AT

May 2019: Up a long valley road not far from the sea is an eco village. On a misty autumn morning we gathered beside a warm fire for a day of feasting.

Highlights: a valley dripping with fruit trees & banana palms, an impromptu demo on how to prepare banana flowers by a guest from Cambodia and the dessert: Misi luki bananas with kaffir lime granita, coconut crumb & white chocolate aquafaba mousse.

Plant-based cooking workshop – Bay of Islands

Not what we expected. Incredibly informative from a health & medicinal aspect. Then the fun started COOKING! CP

April 2019: Our first workshop at the gorgeous Bay of Islands Health Retreat.

Highlights: I probably should mention the food but the sauna and spa were fantastic! Wonderful to have our guests enjoy the facilities. The informal breakfast workshop the next day was a smorgasbord of flavours and neat ideas for breakfast. You can see we loved it so much we came back for a 2-day workshop later in the year.

Plant-based cooking workshop – Devonport

I really enjoyed the day—really well organised & so worthwhile! It was a great experience—lots of good ideas. For me it also reinforced the value of following a plant based diet— particularly with having a few health issues— so I really appreciated all the extra information. GR

White Chocolate Cheesecake

March 2019: The second time cooking in Jane’s beautiful kitchen was just as tasty as the first.

Highlights: cooking tamales took the, ahem … cheesecake. We mindfully removed the layers of husk knowing they had purpose for wrapping our simple filling of corn kernels & polenta. Served with a rich tomato garlic sauce they were a tantalizing snack … not that we needed one!
